A Bad Advice Cat post.
Laptop running slow? Your mate says just delete the big folder called System32, it's taking up loads of room. He's so confident. He's so happy to help. He has never been asked again. Overdrawn? Your uncle has an idea: open a second account and move the money over from that. You ask where the money in the second account comes from. He has already moved on to his views on property. The chip pan's on fire. Your flatmate cheerfully reaches for a jug of water. "That'll sort it." It will not sort it. Luckily you know to turn off the heat and smother it with a damp tea towel. Now he knows too. Your ex has texted "hey". Your best friend, eyes shining, says reply straight away and send the long voice note you recorded at 2 in the morning in March. "Closure," she says. It isn't closure. It's season two. **Why it caught on:** a wide-eyed tabby cat looking delighted with every terrible idea is the friend who has never once considered consequences, and the internet is full of the sincere kind of confident bad advice. Never take the cat's tips, which is the joke and, occasionally, a safety warning.
